Master's Degree

The Master's Degree program in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, offered by the Institute of Fine Arts, is structured as a two-year, full-time education program with Turkish as the language of instruction. The program is designed for candidates holding an undergraduate degree, with preference given to those from related fields such as Interior Architecture, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design, and Urban Planning. Admission requires passing an entrance examination that assesses design skills, theoretical knowledge, and oral competencies.

The curriculum aims to bridge theory and practice through scientific methods and artistic techniques, fostering interdisciplinary connections and encouraging the creation of original design works. Graduates are awarded a Master's Degree, classified under QF-EHEA: 2 and EQF-LLL: 7 levels of qualification.

For registration, applicants must meet the university's criteria, including achieving a minimum foreign language score as specified by Hacettepe University's regulations. The entrance exam, critical for admission, involves design-based and written questions, followed by an oral examination. The selection process considers both the applicant's undergraduate GPA and entrance exam scores, requiring a minimum overall grade for success.

The program consists of 4 semesters, incorporating 32 courses—3 required and 29 electives—amounting to 120 ECTS (21 national credits), with a significant emphasis on elective courses (91%). To graduate, students must complete the requisite coursework, attain a minimum 2.50 GPA, and successfully defend their dissertation.

This program targets the development of innovative and creative researchers proficient in both theoretical and practical realms of Interior Architecture. It emphasizes lifelong learning, analytical thinking, and contributions to societal design culture enhancement. Graduates are well-equipped for roles in project development, design work coordination in various sectors, academic, and research institutions, and also have the potential to start their own businesses. Further studies can lead to higher qualification levels (QF-EHEA: 3, EQF-LLL: 8), indicating the program's alignment with advanced educational and professional pathways.
