Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design commenced its educational activities in the 1985-1986 academic year within the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University. It holds the distinction of being the first department established in this field among universities in Ankara. The department offers education at the undergraduate level with a four-year program, as well as at the master's and Ph.D. levels. The selection of students was through talent exams from 1985 to 2004. Since 2005, the department has transitioned to accepting students based on their scores in the central examination system. Renowned for its in-depth and high-quality education within its field, the department maintains a leading position among Turkish state universities and continues to uphold its prestige.
